Even though I’m posting this on Wednesday, I could definitely still use some inspiration this week.

J Crew is a brand that I get a lot of Business Casual inspiration from. Their clothes and look are more on the preppy side and they are sure to make you look polished and work ready. But unless you are shopping the sales, their clothing is not very affordable. This is why I decided to take looks straight from their website and copy them for a whole lot less. So instead of splurging on just one J Crew outfit, you can propbably afford all three! All of the original looks can be seen here.
Look 1 can be purchased from J Crew here for a total of $1321.
Look 2 can be purchased from J Crew here for a total of $730.

It’s Casual Friday! This week I’m showing you that dresses are definitely ok to wear in the fall. Pairing a casual dress with tights is the best way to make it appropriate for the season. I love the little heart accents on the tights below- they look like polka dots but have add a girly element to the look. The jacket I found is perfect for fall– and it’s on sale! It’s a deep cognac color that will go well with your other fall outfits. And the shoes are a spot on match to the jacket. Their low cut is ideal for fall. Add a gold necklace and your are set for a chic yet casual Friday.

The military coat is a perfect way to look polished this fall. It is a classic trend that has reemerged every year. Paired with a nice pair of slacks, this style will keep you warm and looking good. My favorite part about these coats is the buttons. They add the right amount of bling while maintaining a great structured feel. Best part is that the ones I found are all under $50!

Although it is fall I think skirts are still very appropriate for the season and for work. They are a bit dressier than jeans and are just as versatile. Just make sure to layer up and add tights if your city has a colder climate. I personally don’t own many skirts, but this outfit has me strongly considering getting a few!

I have posted many outfits sporting items from SheInside in the past and it has slowly become one of my favorites! They have super affordable and extremely trendy pieces. It does take a good eye and some time to find work appropriate clothing but it’s there and will make you look great in the office. The best thing that I love about them is how unique their clothing is. There are pieces that I have never seen before but can’t wait to try out.The only negative is that shipping does take a very long time when ordering from them since they are based in China.

Casual Friday- my favorite day of the week! This week I am going for a very clean, fall look. It is simple and sophisticated all while being very comfortable. I was definitely inspired by the gloomy weather and rain we’ve been having here in San Francisco. It’s actually weather that I really love if I am dressed appropriately for it. But this got me thinking, are rainboots work appropriate?
To answer this I think it all depends on the culture of your office. If it is a more laid back workplace- then go for it. I think rainboots that look like boots are actually the best way to go. If your office is more business and less casual, I suggest bringing a pair of flats or heels to change into after battling the rain on the way to work.

It’s a color that just screams fall fashion! If you decide to try any trend this fall I suggest this one. Oxblood is such a great color for the workplace because it’s deep and almost muted. It’s not like a bright red that could be too much for work. And it surprisingly goes well with numerous other colors.

I absolutely love this skirt! It is a super appropriate length for work, unlike numerous other skater skirts I’ve seen. Pair it with tights and you are prepared for the fall chill. The top is also superb. It has a super chic studded color that goes well with the studded pumps. Finally the coat is a must have! It is so girly and looks perfect for the season.

I’ve always been a huge fan of mixing hard and soft in one outfit. This fall trying out the leather trend can help you acheive this look. Leather is such a badass fabric that you need to tone it down a bit to make it work appropriate. This is why I chose a soft, mint top to really balance you out. I really do love this trend because it gives of that vibe that you are a confident woman that means business.
