J Crew is a brand that I get a lot of Business Casual inspiration from. Their clothes and look are more on the preppy side and they are sure to make you look polished and work ready. But unless you are shopping the sales, their clothing is not very affordable. This is why I decided to take looks straight from their website and copy them for a whole lot less. So instead of splurging on just one J Crew outfit, you can propbably afford all three! All of the original looks can be seen here.
Coat, Sweater, Pants, Flats
Look 1 can be purchased from J Crew here for a total of $1321.
Top, Pumps, Skirt, Clutch
Look 2 can be purchased from J Crew here for a total of $730.
Pants, Sweater, Shoes, Top, Blazer
Look 3 can be purchased from J Crew here for a total of $734.
It’s a color that just screams fall fashion! If you decide to try any trend this fall I suggest this one. Oxblood is such a great color for the workplace because it’s deep and almost muted. It’s not like a bright red that could be too much for work. And it surprisingly goes well with numerous other colors.
Coat, Heels, Skirt, Top, Tights
I absolutely love this skirt! It is a super appropriate length for work, unlike numerous other skater skirts I’ve seen. Pair it with tights and you are prepared for the fall chill. The top is also superb. It has a super chic studded color that goes well with the studded pumps. Finally the coat is a must have! It is so girly and looks perfect for the season.
Clutch, Dress, Pants, Skirt
Here are some pieces for you to play with. What do you think of this color for fall?
You probably saw a lot of this trend in the summer and you can be sure to see it throughout the fall. Peplums are perfect for the workplace and can make any outfit instantly cute!
I styled it with a skirt, but you can also wear it with a skinny pant or even a different colored skirt to create that color-blocked effect.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope yours is off to a great start. This week I’m styling up a chambray top. I actually am super late at getting up to speed with this trend- I just purchased a chambray top this week! But I am so glad I did. It is so versatile and comfortable and it’s a great base for accessories. If you don’t have one in your closet yet, get one now! The one I used below is only $17 and I can assure you that it’s a nice looking shirt. Since it is a style that’s been with us in the warmer months it is a great transition top into fall. By styling it with burgundy pants and a scarf, you get a nice mix of the two seasons.

Would you wear a chambray top to work? What about boots?

Tilly’s isn’t usually the first place I think of when I look for Business Casual clothing, but it is actually a great place to find some essential workplace pieces. Tilly’s also has some amazing sales on their sale items during holidays. Be sure to sign up for their emails so you can stay in the loop and be the first to know about their great deals.
Some of my favorite items to buy from Tilly’s are shoes. The shoes especially are bound to go on sale at some point so if you see a pair you like, hold off to get them at a great price. The shoes also go on sale once a season is over. So if you want some great shoes for next summer, for example, now is the time to look and stock up.
Below is an outfit I created using only items from Tillys.com. It isn’t necessarily the most fashion forward outfit but it’s great for work and it uses very versatile pieces. Below the outfit are some great items that I think you would like for your own Business Casual looks.

Will you check out Tilly’s? What do you think of their clothes?
What better way to play with Fall trends than by making outfits based on looks straight off the runway. For this piece I’ll be using looks from Alice + Olivia‘s Fall collection. What I love about the collection is how young and fresh it is. The collection also is bursting with color and different patterns. Below are my takes on these looks.
Oh how I love Fridays. I can’t even begin to express how happy I am when this day comes around. I love waking up and slipping into my denim and casual tops. But this week I decided to work with a simple, yet very cute, dress. When wearing a dress on casual Friday make sure it’s not too casual! This means no spaghetti straps, no short dresses, and absoultely no tube dresses! You want to still look appropriate for the work place yet not as dressy as you would be Monday through Thursday. Below is a dress that I consider to be very work appropriate and perfect for Casual Friday!
This time around the piece that I will be creating outfits around is this top from Tobi. It’s only $32 and comes in five great colors. It’s such a versatile piece that you can style numerous ways, which makes it a great investment for your work outfits.
The following outfits each have their own vibe. Each can be worn in a different situation and work environment.
Casual Friday is tomorrow!! This week my outfit is inspired by clothing at Gap. Recently I’ve come to love Gap because their clothing is very work appropriate and provide a really great base for accessorizing.
**please note that the sale is no longer occurring. But be sure to visit my website weekly to stay up to date on any sales going on.
